Materion Products is the largest, most comprehensive resource for
standard and custom beryllium window assemblies in the world including :
- Standard assemblies (Be thickness greater than 0.25 mm) ; processes are vacuum
brazing, atmospheric brazing, electron beam welding, epoxy bonding and diffusion bonding,
mechanical sealing
- Thin assemblies (Be thickness between 0.075 mm and 0.25 mm) ; processes include vacuum brazing, atmospheric brazing, epoxy bonding, electron beam welding & diffusion bonding, mechanical sealing
- Ultra-thin assemblies (Be thickness smaller than 0.075 mm) ; processes are diffusion bonding, epoxy bonding, mechanical sealing
The UHV vacuum products include synchrotron beamline windows (which can be actively-cooled),
Be beam pipes, Be domes and cylinders, and UHV chambers.
Materion Products have an
on-hand supply of standard size conflat flanges with the largest possible aperture size, allowing thus delivery of "standard diffusion bonded assemblies" within 3 weeks of order.

Handling beryllium-containing products in solid form poses no special health risk. Like many
industrial materials, beryllium-containing materials can pose a health risk if recommended
safe handling practices are not followed. Inhalation of airborne beryllium can cause a
serious lung disorder in susceptible individuals.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has set mandatory limits on
occupational respiratory exposures. Please read and follow the guidance in the Material
Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) supplied with the material, before working with it.
- Be sheet and foils : sheet and foils are available in many grades, ranging from
ultra-high purity to standard purity. Discs, straight cut windows with tight tolerances are
available. A variety of surface finishes, corrosion-resistant coatings can be provided. Foil
is available in 3 classifications of integrity : vacuum tight; optically dense ;
as-rolled
