Tungsten is a steel-grey element. Because of the very high melting point of tungsten : 3410°C, the highest of all metals, tungsten parts are made by powder metallurgy or are remelted under vaccum. The two principal tungsten ores are Wolframite and Scheelite. These (complex) oxides are purified and then reduced to produce tungsten powder. The tungsten powder obtained can be used to produce tungsten and tungsten alloy sintered parts. Tungsten and its alloys are particularly used for their high density (density of tungsten : 19,3g/cm3), their high temperature resistance, and their emissivity.

According to the final application, our supplier proposes various tungsten grades in order to provide the optimum performance required. We are proposing pure tungsten (99,95%), tungsten-rhenium alloys, thoriated tungsten.
